A Mystic Forest Scene - Croatan National Forest

To my eye this scone has a bit of a mystical feel. Perhaps a bit like one of the magic forests discussed in fairy tales and poetry. The scene was captured along the Neusiok Train in the Croatan National Forest near Oyster Point. The choice of black and white enhances with the Orton Sharpening method adds a mystic, magical feel to the image.

The Neusiok Trail is located on the North Carolina coast. With a 26 mile contiguous length it is the long hiking trail found on the Crystal Coast. The route passes through a variety of ecosystems and includes three rustic cabins for overnight stays. It also serves as a section of the Mountains to Sea trail that transveres the state.
