Unexpectedly Curved in the Forest

In the pine forest tree trunks tend to be straight as an arrow. Wnenever I encounter a bent, curved trunk it catches my attention. In this black and white photo there is a gently curved tree in the foreground and a significantly bent young tree in the distance. A fallen log points towards the bent pine.

This scene was found along the Neusiok Trail in the Croatan National Forest. Taken in late summer the vivid green was almost overbearing. As such I decided to present this as a monochrome image.
