Exposed Roots in the State Park

This mature tree stands on a steep hill side along the Spanish Moss hiking trail in the Cliffs of the Neuse State Park. The park, located in Wayne county near Seven Springs, North Carolina, features several nature trails, a lake and, as it name implies, ample river frontage along the banks of the Neuse. In addition to hiking popular activities include swimming, fishing, camping and bird watching.
