Twisted Birch Tree - Craggy Gardens Trail

Bent and twisted this Birch Tree clings tightly to life and the rock terrain found along the Craggy Gardens Pinnacle Trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway. In the movie, Jurassic Park, there is a line, "life will find a way." This tree stands as a testimonial to that concept.

I reached the location quite a bit later than I had plan. It is late morning and the light is harsher than I would've liked. The dappled sunlight and deep shadows providing a bit of a challenge for making a compelling image of this beautiful tree. I'm certain I will return. Perhaps in the Fall and definitely earlier in the morning. This beautiful survivor is well worth the effort.
